What I do
Good trim work is the difference between a room that looks finished and one that looks almost there. Mitres that close, skirting that sits down on the floor, gaps filled so the painter has nothing to hide.
I also frame up timber stud walls, whether you want to split a big bedroom in two, close off a study or build out a nook. Frame, sheet, set and trim, so you’re not chasing three different trades.
- Skirting boards. New skirting, replacement after flooring goes down, or matching an existing profile.
- Architraves and trims. Door and window trims, shadow lines and small mouldings, mitred and filled.
- Timber-framed walls. Stud walls to divide rooms or create a study, with plaster, skirting and a door if needed.
- Repairs to timber. Damaged sections cut out and replaced, loose trims refixed.
- Custom timber pieces. Shelving, ledges and simple built-ins made to fit your space.

Common questions
Can you match my old skirting?
Often. Many common profiles are still made. For older homes I find the closest match, or recommend replacing a whole room so it looks consistent.
Can you build a wall to split a room?
Yes. A timber-framed wall with plasterboard, skirting and a door if you want one. If the job needs an electrician for power points or council approval, I’ll tell you upfront.
Do you install skirting after new flooring?
Yes, that’s one of the most common jobs. Book it once the floor is down and I’ll fit new skirting or refit the old where it’s still good.
